A New Holiday Tradition Takes Root in Lansdale

For years, families have gathered at Railroad Plaza to kick off Lansdale's holiday season, attending cherished events like the Tree Lighting and TubaChristmas Concert.

 

This year, the centerpiece of those celebrations will look a little different.

 

In 2025, Lansdale is embracing a more sustainable approach by planting a 12-foot spruce tree near the Santa House, ensuring a living symbol of the season for generations to come.

 

While the tree may be smaller this year, the celebrations will be as vibrant as ever.

 

By establishing a permanent tree, borough staff can dedicate more time to creating a magical holiday atmosphere in the plaza.

 

Families can look forward to watching "our tree" grow each year, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the community.

 

This new tradition ensures that the heart of Lansdale's holiday season remains bright, fostering memories and a sense of togetherness.

 

Upcoming events include the 74th Annual Mardi Gras Parade on November 22, 2025, at 1 p.m., celebrating all holidays with festive floats and music.

 

The Annual Tree Lighting at Railroad Plaza is scheduled for December 5, 2025, at 6 p.m., featuring Santa's arrival and the inaugural lighting of the new spruce.

 

Additionally, the 2025 Holiday House Tours on December 7, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., will showcase beautifully decorated historic homes and a church in Lansdale.
